World Cup in Canmore: sprints was canceled because of the terrible frost

New date bialonski competition is still unknown.

Today, February 10, the seventh stage of the world Cup in canadian Canmore came to an end.

On the last day of competition had to go through the sprint race among men (10 km) and women’s (7.5 km), which due to the severe frosts suggested that the biathlon is over long before the mass starts.

But, according to information from the International biathlon Union (IBU), the jury decided to cancel the sprints. By the time when you had to start the race, the air temperature was -31 degrees Celsius, which, according to the IBU rules, makes it impossible to hold competitions.

Interesting that racing on the world Cup was not abolished for three years. Last time due to the weather the competition was conducted March 20, 2016, then the hurricane in the Russian Khanty-Mansiysk broke lighting masts at the stadium.
