Between the South Bureau, Pivdenmash plant and the Italian company Avio SpA signed the documents on the continuation of the project Vega. On Monday, January 8, according to the national industrial portal.
Thus, the Ukrainian and European sides continued until 2020 the contract for the supply of the main engine 4-speed Vega RN RD-868P for the development of the South Bureau and Pivdenmash production.
According to the continue the contract assumed manufacturing and supply of the Ukrainian side 20 RD-868Р.
The original contract to develop and supply the main engine of the fourth stage to a PH between Vega of the South Bureau, Pivdenmash and Italian Avio SpA was signed in February 2004. Under the contract CB South has developed boosters VG 143, a part of liquid propulsion upper stage booster. It is designed to produce thrust, thrust vector control, the implementation of the maneuvering of the upper stage, the removal of the booster from orbit.
By the way, PH Vega developed by ESA in cooperation with the Italian space Agency (ASI). It is intended for output on a sun-synchronous orbit with an altitude of 1200 km satellites weighing up to 1200 kg, or a polar orbit with altitude of 700 km satellites with a mass of 1500 kg.
