Zelensky said that Ukraine will return the Crimea

Зеленский заявил, что Украина вернет Крым

However long was the way for the return of the Crimea, Ukraine will pass it along with kirimli, said the future head of state.

Newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky in the day of 75-th anniversary of deportation of Crimean Tatars expressed the hope that Ukraine will be able to release annexed Crimea. About this he wrote on his page in Facebook on Saturday, may 18.

“Today is the 75th anniversary of the deportation of Crimean Tatars. This day reminds us that we can destroy people, but the spirit of the whole people – never. Crimean Tatars returned to their historic homeland. And now they were once again the victims of repression – as well as those who remained loyal to the Ukraine in the occupied Crimea,” wrote the future President.

Vladimir Zelensky expressed hope that Ukraine will be able to liberate their homeland of the Crimean Tatars from the occupation.

“Our support, our efforts, our thoughts are with them every day. I believe that we will liberate the homeland of the Crimean Tatars from the occupation. And however long was the way for the return of the Crimea, we will pass it along with kirimli (Crimean Tatars – ed.). We’ll do it together. Don’t forget that even the darkest night ends with dawn,” wrote the President-elect.

We will remind, today marks 75 years since the deportation by the Soviet regime of the Crimean Tatars from their historical homeland – Crimea. May 18, 1944 from the Crimea were sent the first echelon of the Crimean Tatars. There were deported about 200 thousand people.

In November 2015, Parliament has recognized the deportation of Crimean Tatars as genocide, but also set may 18 as the Day of memory of victims of genocide of Crimean Tatar people.
