The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said about how he had two conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Interview with the head of the Ukrainian state program “100 days of the President” aired on 1+1 TV channel on Saturday, August 31.

According to Zelensky, the former leadership of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine tried to prevent his conversation with Putin.

“The foreign Ministry was very reluctant to allow my conversations with the President of Russia. For them it is a political question, to me, the human. For them, God forbid, the sailors will be back for talking Zelensky with Putin. I’m for it… they don’t want to say my attitude,” said Zelensky.

According to him, the first conversation with Putin on 11 July lasted 30 minutes.

“I decided to call him, we met, we had conversation for 30 minutes. We had a substantive conversation. We decided how and in what period of time we have to return our children,” he said.

Zelensky said that “the second conversation – the exchange of information, which I can’t talk, are not eligible. And the steps to return the children and not only sailors.”
