Trudeau assured Poroshenko in support of NATO

Justin Trudeau has assured that a coalition of countries “the Big seven” and NATO is committed to supporting Ukraine.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a telephone conversation with President Petro Poroshenko, in the course of which he declared support for the Ukraine coalition of countries “the Big seven” and NATO.

“Prime Minister Trudeau reassured that the coalition of countries “the Big seven” and NATO is committed to supporting Ukraine”, - said on the website of the Ukrainian President.

It is also reported that Poroshenko said Trudeau on the situation in the Donbas and the fulfillment by Russia of the Minsk agreements.

“The President of Ukraine expressed confidence that the leaders of the NATO countries “the Big seven” will give a proper assessment of this situation, in particular to continue the sanctions pressure on Moscow”, - told the press service.

The leaders also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, and welcomed the recent ratification by the canadian Senate a free trade Agreement.

“Petro Poroshenko thanked Canada for its position in the development of defense cooperation, as evidenced by the continued training mission UNIFIER and the signing of the agreement on defense cooperation”, - said the press service.
