The verniaiev: I Want to personally apologize to the national team of Switzerland

The leader of the national team of Ukraine in gymnastics apologized to the fans for the situation in the team all-round.

The leader of the national team of Ukraine in gymnastics, Oleg Verniaiev apologized to the fans for the situation that occurred in the team all-round.

We will remind that Maxim Semyankiv that was announced for the Ukrainian national team, was unable to participate because of a wrist injury. To replace it or to withdraw the team and to give a place in the final of the first Swiss spare it was too late.

The post words of apology Vernaeve has posted on his page in Facebook:

“I want to personally apologize for the current situation in the team final! Came emergency. The fact that we will not be able to play at full strength, we learned 15 minutes before going on stage! The guy went to the hospital and arrived only 15 minutes before the start of the competition! We are unable to change the composition and put 3 people on the projectile! I want to personally apologize to Switzerland because I understand what they think now! I’m sorry for what happened”.

 

Note that the team of Ukraine took the 8th place in team all-around. Due to injury Semyankiv in 4 types of 6-our team played full strength.

Oleg Verniaiev will fight for medals in the individual all-around, which will be held on August 10. From 14-th to 16 th August will be the finals, in which in addition Vernaeve (horizontal bar, vault, parallel bars) will perform Igor Radivilov (rings, vault).

  1. I was personally impressed with Oleg Vernyayev and that he took it upon himself to apologize to the Swiss. It was obvious he felt bad and wished there was something he could of done to correct it. I believe we witnessed a show of true sportsmanship.
