Ukrainian chess player Anna Muzychuk won in the first game of the 1/2 final of the world championship in classical chess. Rival Muzychuk was the Russian Alexandra Kosteniuk.

After 64 moves Kosteniuk accepted its defeat and now players expect a return party, which will take place tomorrow, February 24. In case of a draw after two batches of players will play a game of speed chess.

In parallel to the semi-finals, the Chinese tan Junyi defeated Harika Dronavalli from India.
