Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania must bring the volume of bilateral trade to pre-crisis level of $ 1 billion. This indicator considers necessary to achieve Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, he stated during a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Saulius Skordalia.

“According to 2016, we entered the trade at roughly $ 750 million. This is a good figure, but we have not yet reached the pre-crisis level of our bilateral trade. So I think if we took the benchmark to reach $ 1 billion in our trade, it would be very good,” said Volodymyr Groysman.

In this context, he called for the revitalization of the work of the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Lithuanian Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, which will facilitate the coordination of cooperation in the economic sphere.

In turn Saulius Squirrels noted the high level of interaction in the sphere of business, at the same time called for greater economic cooperation and greater use of bilateral potential.

The sides also discussed issues of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania in the energy, military-technical and transport sectors, tourism and education.
