Striker for real Madrid and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo believes himself completely innocent and has no plans to pay 14.7 million euros to the tax authorities of Spain to, as it was reported earlier, to avoid a real prison sentence for tax evasion, says Marca.

31 Jul in court a 32-year-old intends to defend his point of view. In anticipation of this process, Ronaldo has already hired two lawyers from international law firm Baker & McKenzie, who will defend him before the court.

Ronaldo is suspected of evasion from payment of taxes to the Spanish authorities in the amount of € 14.7 million in the period from 2011 to 2014 and at the moment four-time winner of the Golden ball faces real prison time.

Earlier, the Spanish prosecutors accused the Portuguese tax fraud for a total amount of 14.8 million euros. 32-year-old striker denied the charge and even a stated desire to leave real Madrid because of the lack of support from the club now, however, “creamy”, allegedly managed to convince Cristiano to stay at the club.
