State enterprise Antonov and the Swiss company AIR-ION Technologies SA during the air show in Farnborough have signed a Memorandum of partnership in the development, testing, certification and production of hybrid and electric unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer.

It is noted that the aircraft will be made on the basis of unified multi-purpose modular development platform of AIR-ION Technologies SA to perform a variety of civil and military tasks.

Pre-planned to produce four types of the UAV with a maximum takeoff weight of 1500 kg and a cruise speed of 185 km/h.

“Antonov will participate in the development of the airframe of these aircraft, the manufacture of samples for experiments, conducting their testing, certification, and in the future at the production facilities of GP Antonov plans to start a line for serial production of the UAV,” – said in the message.

Earlier, Ukraine has shown at Farnborough the latest military transport aircraft An-178. A Ukrainian plane made a demonstration flight.

Recall that in the next five years, Antonov-case scenario expects to release a minimum of five to eight aircraft, ideally ten.
