Balance of payments of Ukraine reduced surplus for the third month in a row

In June 2017 the balance of payments of Ukraine was executed with a surplus of $306 million

At the same time, the current account deficit of the balance of payments has increased almost three times.

The balance of payments of Ukraine in June 2017 for the third month in a row were drawn with a surplus, which amounted to $306 million compared to $357 million in may and $970 million in April. It is reported by the national Bank of Ukraine.

According to him, the current account deficit in June, according to preliminary data, rose to $518 million from $194 million a month earlier, while in June last year the balance was positive – $88 million

“The formation of a negative current account balance as a result of increased foreign trade deficit in goods and services, and increases in a negative account balance of primary incomes, in particular through the payment of dividends”, – said the NBU.

Controller napomnil that in April this year allowed the repatriation of dividends accrued not only for 2014-2015 but also for 2016 as well as simplified mechanism for the implementation of such payments.

At the same time, net inflows on the financial account in June 2017 was $825 million versus $289 million in June 2016 and was secured by the operations of the private sector, notes the Bank.

“In June continued reduction of volumes of cash currency outside banks ($553 million, which is the highest reading since August 2016), which remained a key factor in the formation of the surplus of the financial account,” said the regulator.

In General, the first half of the current account deficit was $1.6 billion, $0.6 billion higher than the figures of the corresponding period last year, however, net income on the financial account almost doubled to $2.6 billion, as a result, the surplus of consolidated balance of payments amounted to $1 billion.

As reported Корреспондент.netUkrainian state budget in January of this year was consolidated with the surplus 15,754 billion, which is six times higher than the surplus in January last year at 2,452 billion.
